On a budget of $6000, first-time filmmaker Lacy Burke produced a documentary that has shocked male viewers and angered female viewers. "Of course these techniques will work on the average girl at your local bar. I wanted to use porn stars because they are savvy. If mind control tactics work on them, then they will work on any woman," Burke explains.
According to Burke, porn stars Victoria White and Charlie Laine tell a different story.
Both women declined to be interviewed, but their opinion of the documentary "Car Date" is clear from their messages on Twitter, Facebook and other social media. "It appears that they regret having participated in the film. What isn't clear is why. It seems inane, but could it be possible that even porn stars can feel used and taken advantage of?" says Burke.
Burke states that after a screening of the film, it is clear why White and Laine are offended and even resentful. When he hired the girls, Burke did not tell them that the film was meant to demonstrate methods of mind control. "If I had told them what I was up to, it would have ruined the whole experiment," Burke said with a devilish grin on his face.
For about 50 minutes, audiences see the girls reacting to Burke, but it is through voiceovers and subtitles, added later in the editing phase of production, that Burke reveals which mind control techniques he is using and shows us how the girls' behavior falls right in line.
Despite the porn stars feeling exploited, this documentary is getting big reactions from audiences and positive feedback from heavy-hitters in the porn industry, such as Wicked Pictures.
There are moments in this film that make you cringe, moments that make you think and, admittedly, moments that you file away under "I've got to remember this...that was brilliant." The film is controversial, but it is also original, cheeky and unapologetically bold.

The overall concept of Car Date was created as a result of wanting to make a movie that I knew people would want to watch, while spending the least amount of money as possible.
I decided to make a movie about something that most people can relate to, dating. When it came to location, I thought of the movie “Saw” and I liked the idea of using one space for the entire film.
Since this was a documentary, and not a horror film, I needed to figure out a way to achieve that while sill keeping the audience engaged … so, I thought a car would be the perfect setting for the date to take place. What better than getting a view of the San Fernando Valley and the girls at the same time? That’s when I decided to call the movie “Car Date”.
How did you end up hiring Charlie Laine and Victoria White from Shy Love’s agency, ATMLA?
When I first thought about casting for “Car Date”, I envisioned two normal girls who you could see working hard at a local market or bar to pay their bills.
The problem is that most regular girls don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera, so I had to change my plan. I called about 12 small modeling agencies, because I figured that they would have pretty girls who weren’t camera shy, but nobody really wanted to talk with me.
After constantly being hung up on, I continued to search for modeling agencies and talent agencies through Yahoo! until I found ATMLA talent, an adult talent agency.
I spoke to Shy Love, and we ended up picking Charlie and Victoria out of a lineup of 250 photos. I never met either of the girls until we filmed on January 15, 2011.

I met Stephen at a film festival and he seemed like a nice guy. I told him i was interested in shooting some footage to use to promote my film "Car Date". I explained to him that the footage would be shot at night and i needed a lighting set-up.
He explained to me that he didnt have lights so i offered him a deal. The deal was that i would pay for 50% of the lighting equipment and he would pay the other 50%. After we shot the footage i would own the rights to the footage and he would get to keep the lighting gear. We agreed and i mailed him a check.
